| Festival Overview |
| Mission | During the Brazilian cinema crisis period held in 1990, the production of feature films was scarce, then making short films became the ideal format for the new generation of filmmakers. From the mid-80s on, the national scene experienced the blooming of short filmmakers, who created works awarded in Brazil and overseas.
This way ther festival was created aiming the possibility of working as a window highlightning the Brazilian shorts and promoting an exchange of experiences between the Brazilian filmmakers and foreigners directors, festival´s representatives, curators, journalists among others. |
| History | The festival was created by Zita Carvalhosa in 1990.
Since its very first beginning it has been developing good partnerships with film schools all over the world and other aclaimed film festivals like Clermont Ferrand, Oberhausen, Critics Week from Cannes Festival, Sundance, Toronto among others. |
