| Festival Overview |
| Mission | Short experimental film and video production experiences a quantity and quality boom in both local Croatian and international scale, owing to the advances and ever increasing availability of digital technology. Such developments render the boundaries between film and video less pronounced, resulting in films of specific production logic and aesthetics, i.e. hybrid film, establishing steadily its positions within the genre and production interspace. Like the last of the Mohicans, the experiment in short film and video has today remained the only film and video form which doesn't underestimate the spectator, even at the cost of possible misunderstanding. Additionally, if such a film or video doesn't reveal a direct marketing agenda, if it is not basically interested in profit or shallow amusement, it becomes a culturological incident, a slight inconvenience that is best left unspoken of. Just like a considerable number of festivals of different genres emerging in Croatia and Europe, this festival is also a reaction to the increasingly aggressive global television and movie repertoire lobotomy as well as the vanishing of non-commercial cultural content from the media space |
| History | The first edition of the Festival (2005) was already a progress, since 25 fps had managed to collect quite a program and invite some respectable guests. The second edition follows the steps of the firs one - good main competition program, fine retrospectives, and wide-known guests from all over the world that are working with the experimental films or are authors themselves. |
