Festival Overview
Mission
Lifecycle of Knowledge
St. Gilgen International School is a new international boarding school in Austria (Secondary Education) with a special emphasis on Communication and Media Education. From its very beginning the school is committed to build upon existing information and creations and pass these on to others for further development. To find and award talent and to emphasise the importance of the transfer of knowledge St. Gilgen International School launches the "MediaAward" and call for submissions to the theme "Lifecycles of Knowledge", thus creating an open source media archive for further use.
History
Creating an Public Domain Archive
After the laureates of the MediaAward are announced the Archive will be open to the public. All content can be used if the transformation of the work is of noncommercial use and is uploaded again. The students of the St. Gilgen International School will make use of the archive in the context of their Media Studies, contributing new ideas and content. The „Lifecycle of Knowledge" continues.
