| Festival Overview |
| Mission | Port Shorts provides an opportunity for all film makers, from the first time amateur to the seasoned professional, to "strut their stuff". |
| History | The Port Shorts Film Festival, formerly known as the UZI 8mm film fest was incepted over a Sunday afternoon BBQ in a sunny corner of a Port Douglas backyard in 2000.
An idea which began as "Lets all make films amongst our friends & have a film night soire" was the start of an event which attracted over 400 people the first year, 450 people the following year and 550 the year after that! 2005 saw 4 sold out sessions as Port shorts continues to grow. |
