GENERAL RULES
ENTRY DIVISIONS
DIVISION 1 Alberta Entries. Films that were shot in Alberta and have a minimum of six members from Alberta in the following key positions: Writer, Producer, Director, Film Editor, Production Designer, Cinematographer, Lead Male Actor, Lead Female Actor, Supporting Male Actor, Supporting Female Actor.

DIVISION 2 Canadian Entries. Films that were shot in Canada and have a minimum of six members from Canada in the following key positions: Writer, Producer, Director, Film Editor, Production Designer, Cinematographer, Lead Male Actor, Lead Female Actor, Supporting Male Actor, Supporting Female Actor.

DIVISION 3 International Entries. All films that do not qualify as Division 1 or 2.

The CFFF has reserved 30% of Official Selections for Division 1 Entries and an additional 30% of Official Selections for Division 2 Entries. In the event that this minimum quota is not met, entries from the other divisions will be made Official Selections to the CFFF.

ENTRY CATEGORIES
ALL Films must be entered into one of the Four Festival categories of the festival:

Drama - any work which is of a dramatic nature and is a fictional story;

Comedy - any work which is of a comedic nature or mockumentary and is a fictional story;

Documentary - any work which is a story of a real situation, person or account;

Animation - any work, fictional or not, that primarily uses animation, claymation, cartoon or medium which is not of real persons or scenes.

SPECIAL CATEGORY - Student Film -- Any film made by an individual while attending a post secondary educational institute with a program in film making. The entrant must be one of the i)Producer ii)Writer or iii)Director. This category is in addition to the previous four genres and entries may also be submitted in one of the other four categories.

Festival Overview
Mission
The Calgary Fringe Festival is set to launch August 11th to 20th, 2006 in the heart of Calgary's cultural corridor. This non-juried, uncensored artistic event will feature raw and innovative local, national, and international theatrical stage productions alongside street performers, musicians, and outdoor stage events. Running in conjunction with the theatrical event, The Calgary Fringe Film Festival embraces the artistry of independent film production, while endeavoring to provide a venue for these productions to screen to the public.
